God has given us so many practical ways to love each other in His Word; what follows is only a partial list! It is interesting to spend a moment looking at just the few accentuated words in each verse. Doing so really brings out the emphasis Scripture places on loving and serving one another.

One Anothers of the Word

This is my commandment, that you LOVE one another as I have loved you. (Jn 15:12)

LET US NOT PASS JUDGEMENT ON one another any longer, but rather decide never to put a stumbling block or hindrance in the way of a brother. (Rom 14:13)

May the God of endurance and encouragement grant you to LIVE IN such HARMONY WITH one another, in accord with Christ Jesus, that together you may with one voice glorify the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ. (Rom 15:5 – 6)

…have the same CARE FOR one another. If one member suffers, all SUFFER together; if one member is honored, all REJOICE together. (1 Cor 12:25-26)

Aim for restoration, COMFORT one another, AGREE WITH one another,live in peace; and the God of love and peace will be with you. (2 Cor 13:11)

through love SERVE one another (Gal 5:13)

BEAR one another‘s BURDENS, and so fulfill the law of Christ. (Gal 6:2)

BE KIND TO one another, tenderhearted, FORGIVING one another, as God in Christ forgave you. (Eph 4:32)

ENCOURAGE one another and BUILD UP one another, just as you are doing. (1 Thes 5:11)

EXHORT one another EVERY DAY, as long as it is called “today,” that none of you may be hardened by the deceitfulness of sin (Heb 3:13)

consider how to STIR UP one another TO LOVE AND GOOD WORKS, not neglecting to meet together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another, and all the more as you see the Day drawing near. (Heb 10:24-25)

CONFESS YOUR SINS TO one another and PRAY FOR one another, that you may be healed. (James 5:16)

Above all, KEEP LOVING one another EARNESTLY, since love covers a multitude of sins. (1 Peter 4:8)

SHOW HOSPITALITY to one another without grumbling. (1 Pet 4:9)

As EACH HAS RECEIVED A GIFT, USE IT TO SERVE one another, as good stewards of God’s varied grace. (1 Pet 4:10)

CLOTHE YOURSELVES, all of you, WITH HUMILITY TOWARD one another, for “God opposes the proud but gives grace to the humble.” (1 Pet 5:5)

Beloved, LET US LOVE one another, FOR LOVE IS FROM GOD, and whoever loves has been born of God and knows God. (1 Jn 4:7)
